Sprig Electric has been around since 1970 and employs about 205 Local 332 members. In 2020, Sprig became a part of Archkey, a national contractor. Because of the state-of-the-art skills of 332 members, we are leading the way nationally, and Archkey is utilizing Sprig as a model for the rest of its operations. According to Erik Beckman, Sprig Area Superintendent, Local 332 has been key to their success: He said:
- 332 members are the best in the country, and the craftsmanship is above and beyond. No matter what project we throw at them, they can do it and impress the customers.
- 332 members are dedicated and hardworking with a strong sense of community spirit.
- 332 members are a positive force for change, which positively impacts the electrical industry.
- 332 members all work toward common goals, representing our local in a positive way.
Local 332 members are a part of Sprig projects such as Levi’s Stadium, LinkedIn, Paragon, Google Huff, Prime Data Center, Stack Data Center, and Intel. We visited two Sprig worksites. The first is a brand new Sutter medical office building, where 332 members are bringing in medium voltage power and installing lighting, security, fire alarm, and data in MRI rooms, patient rooms, and exam rooms. The second is a 660,000 sq. ft. Applied Materials parking garage, where we are bringing in medium voltage power and installing lighting, security, the car counting system, PV on the roof, and 900 EV charging stations.
Thank you Sprig for your ongoing partnership with Local 332!

Brian has been a 332 member since 2013 and currently works for Sprig Electric. He comes from a union family, and his older brother Agustin is also a 332 member. Brian said, “I was non-union before and then went through the 332 apprenticeship. I love what I do and that being a union electrician allows me to provide for my family.”

“I am a second generation electrician; my father Danny is retired 332. I’ve been a member since 1998. I am originally from Corpus Christi, Texas and the youngest of three boys. I moved to San Jose on a Sunday and was working as a material handler the following day for Rosendin Electric. I am very grateful to be a part of the IBEW. ”

“I have a lot of family and friends who are in the trades, and every single one of them told me to go electrical. So I became the first electrician in my family, followed by my cousin Quinn, who is working for Sprig as well. Hopefully, more will follow our lead, since this local is providing a great life for me and my family.”

“I did two years in the residential apprenticeship, and now I’m 1st-year inside. Fun fact about me is that I grew up in San Jose, went to the performing arts schools, and play a multitude of instruments. You name it, and I can play it! My main instruments are the clarinet and trombone, and I can play all the woodwind and brass instruments.”

“I’ve been in 332 for six years. Being in the union changed everything: It gave me stability, solid pay, and helped me buy my first home way earlier than I expected. I’m not just working, I’m building a future. These days, weekends are for the familia: carne asada on the grill, kids running wild, slapping old school jams, and nothing but good vibes.
“Fun fact — I got my first tattoo at 14 to honor my cousin who passed.”
Carlos Medina
“I’m a 5th-year apprentice. Before getting into the union, I worked for a small nonunion shop doing demo and excavation work. We had no benefits and only small pay increases. Joining IBEW 332 has been a blessing for me and my family, providing us a good living and great benefits. I feel proud representing IBEW Local 332!”
