Greetings Brothers & Sisters,
There has never been a better time to be a member of IBEW Local 332. As we look ahead, the work outlook in Silicon Valley remains exceptionally solid. Work calls are on the rise, and our jurisdiction continues to be a hub for large-scale data centers, commercial developments, and infrastructure projects. This steady demand doesn’t just mean job security; it gives us the leverage to continue leading the industry in total compensation.
Our members are seeing the direct results of this strength, and you have the power to decide how your hard-earned raises are distributed. Please come out for the upcoming wage allocation votes on the Inside raise of $6.79 on April 13, and the Residential raise of $3.15 on May 13. We can put more dollars on the check, bolster our health and welfare funds, and/or add to our outstanding retirement plans. Any way we cut it, our growing wages and benefits packages ensure that a 332 career provides a stable, middle-class life from apprenticeship to retirement.
Protecting our future and maximizing opportunity means staying informed; attending monthly union meetings; reading the monthly recap emails; being involved in your union through committees such as EWMC, Renew, or the Political Action Committee. And of course, I always encourage you to attend one of my retirement planning workshops to learn how to set yourself up for life.
It’s not all work, though. The union brother- and sisterhood is also strengthened off the clock. We are seeing record participation in our union social activities. Led by President Peter Huber, we have planned so many opportunities to hang out with your family AND your union family at local team sporting events, hikes, golfing, softball, our annual picnic and holiday party, community service events, and an array of special events like Classic Cars & Coffee and the Apprentice Skills Contest coming up this spring. President Huber maintains the union calendar on this website.
Stay safe, stay involved, and let’s keep moving this local forward!
Always 332,
Peter G. Seaberg
