332 President Peter Huber’s Message

THE IBEW LOCAL 332 BROTHER- & SISTERHOOD

Everything I do in my role as 332 president is in service of our brother and sisterhood. I want everyone to feel included, and that’s where my heart is at. In so many ways, our world is divided, and my dream is unity. The most important part of the IBEW is being on the same team, having each other’s backs on the job, and the feeling that our union is our second family. That family feeling is deeply embedded in our culture. To quote part of 332’s statement on our culture:

“We come from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, and at the end of the day, the union is the glue that binds us together…IBEW 332 starts and ends with the bond of the union brother– and sisterhood as the great equalizer among our members.”

Bringing Up the Next Generation of Electricians

I toured the Epic Center job site where over 250 members are working. It was great to see the IBEW camaraderie in action. When I spoke to members at lunch, I emphasized one of the cornerstones of the IBEW: bringing up the next generation of electricians. Through your hard work and dedication, IBEW electricians show that we are the best in the world. To all the journeymen: When you take the time to train your apprentices, you continue to keep our union strong. Keep up the good work! (pictured right)

ELECTRICAL WORKERS MINORITY CAUCUS DAY OF SERVICE

I attended this year’s IBEW EWMC national convention. On the first day, 600 members were dispatched to 24 community projects across Seattle, where people have been negatively impacted by the federal government cuts. This included serving at food banks, doing electrical work in group homes, and cleaning up parks and schools. It was incredibly rewarding! (pictured lower right pics)

Join Local 332’s Committees & Clubs

We don’t just build a strong union on the job, we build it off the clock through our family social events, committees and clubs, and community service. Our clubs and committees are a great way to see old 332 friends and make new ones.
